Not on its own — which is why we went further. A brushless DC motor produces less mechanical noise than a conventional motor, but most of the sound you hear from any fan actually comes from airflow and blade movement, not the motor itself. Aerosilent™ technology addresses all of it: the BLDC motor handles mechanical noise, and the overall design has been engineered to minimize aerodynamic noise too.
Very quiet for its size. Aerosilent™ technology combines a brushless DC motor with a fan configuration specifically chosen to minimize noise from every source — not just the motor, but airflow and blade movement too, which are actually the main contributors to fan noise. The result is a fan designed to run noticeably quietly across all speed settings.
Yes. The handheld fan is powered by a brushless DC (BLDC) motor — the same motor technology used across all Blueair products, including our air purifiers. It's part of what we call Aerosilent™ technology: our approach to building fans that are as quiet as they are powerful.
We recommend using the included charging cable as it is certified for use with the device. When plugging the cord into a power plug that is inserted into a wall outlet, please be sure to only use a 5V output power plug.
The fan speed can be set between 1-100% increments of 1%. There are effectively 100 fan speeds for maximum customization for each individual user.
