Stack the Carbon+ filter on top of your Pro Particle or SmokeStop filter for an added layer of activated carbon protection. The coconut carbon pellets absorb gases, including those caused by off-gassing, volatile organic compounds (VOC), smog, chemicals, and odors.
When it's time to replace your filter (about every six months), start by unplugging your air purifier. Remove the air intake grate on the right-hand side to access the filter. Pull the tabs on either side of the used filter together to close it like a book and remove it. Insert a new filter, opening it like a book inside in the air purifier - the sides should snap into place. Replace the air intake grate and plug back in. Easy.
Genuine Blueair filters are specifically designed to enable more air flow through the filter media. When combined with electrostatic filtration this results in faster cleaning than traditional HEPA filtration.
The number of filters you need for replacement depends on your Pro model. Due to the modular design, the Pro M requires one replacement filter, Pro L requires two, and the Pro XL requires three. When you're ready to purchase, simply select your model at the top of the page and click 'Add to cart' - the proper quantity of filters will automatically add to the cart.
Pro's modular design allows you to customize filter combinations to fit your needs. The optional Carbon+ filter add-on stacks on top of the standard Particle filter providing light chemical, gas and, odor removal.

The forest fires have soured our sweet home . But we have found that the smoke filter has allowed us to breath in comfort until the air pollution passes.

First off: Some other reviewer talked about the smell of bleach or an odd odor, and uploaded a picture of their purifier next to what appears to be an IQAir filter. If they're running an IQAir, it contains permanganate, which will impart the air with what I interpret to be a slightly sweet smell. This is NOT a BlueAir issue, and the machines DO NOT PRODUCE OZONE. PERIOD. Anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or a moron.
Also, these filters ABSOLUTELY work. You can simply measure the PM2.5 in a room with them running, and see that they make a difference. And no, DO NOT run a purifier with only one carbon filter installed. It does nothing because, as BlueAir explained, the air will just move through the other filter with less resistance.
That said, I'm unhappy about BlueAir discontinuing their SmokeStop filters. With those fitlers, you could then couple the Carbon+ filter, effectively getting some filtration from VOCs and the like. There isn't much carbon in these filters to begin with. Compare these filters with an IQAir, which contains like 12 pounds (!!!) of activated carbon and permanganate. You may not love the smell of permanganate in the morning, but it certainly cleans the air.
So seriously. Just bring back the SmokeStop filters already. I'm sure there's some perfectly kromulent business reason for why they were discontinued, just as there's a reason that Google sunsets every project it touches. But just bring them back for a limited release. Put them in a…

Bring Back the original one piece ProCarbon Filter for smokers. This add-on version means I have to buy 2 filters each time: the HEPA filter and this add-on. What happened to the original one-piece Smoke Grabber filter?
