Eco-friendly air purifiers inspired by nature

Blueair was founded by man who stood on a beach in the Stockholm Archipelago and thought, “How can I bring this clean and energizing air to my family in the city?” So it should be no surprise that a company inspired by a love of nature designs products to make a minimal impact on our environment.

Built to last

This thinking starts with the very basic fact that all Blueair purifiers are eco-friendly, designed and engineered to provide years of service, not run for a few years and then wind up in a landfill. That’s why the system housing is made from durable, galvanized steel, rather than petroleum-based plastic.

Then there is the non-toxic, biodegradable filter media: Blueair filters are made from recyclable polypropylene, which naturally breaks down, returning to its original carbon dioxide and water ingredients.

Recycling made simple

Besides using environmentally friendly materials, Blueair designs its air purifiers to be quickly disassembled to simplify recycling when they finally do reach the end of their service lives. And if your Blueair purifier does end up in a landfill instead of being recycled, its steel housing will not release any toxins into the environment. Plus, the powder-coated finish means no chemical off-gassing takes place.

No chemical additives

Since polypropylene fibers are hydrophobic, Blueair’s eco-friendly air filters don’t absorb the moisture in which bacteria thrive. This means they naturally prevent bacteria, mold and mildew from reproducing inside the filter and do not require the use of chemical-based bacteriostats or mold inhibitors.

Energy-efficient air purifiers

Any appliance that can achieve high efficiency with lower power use helps reduce our overall consumption of fossil fuels. Blueair’s advanced HEPASilent™ technology is highly energy efficient, delivering especially high performance and efficiency by combining electrostatic and mechanical filtration technologies. This combination, pioneered by Blueair, delivers high Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) with high energy efficiency. In fact, our air purifiers use no more power than a single light bulb: from 5 to 20 watts on low to 10 to 120 watts on high, depending on the model.
