AHAM Verifide launched their certified replacement filter program in response to growing concerns about poorly performing replacement filters being purchased online. Given that many people use air purifiers to manage allergy symptoms and reduce the spread of illness-causing viruses and bacteria, non-genuine filters could introduce health risks into homes.
For customers, the program offers the peace-of-mind that they are getting what they paid for, and that their air cleaner will continue to perform as intended. Shoppers can trust that AHAM Verifide products have been tested in accredited labs by an independent third party. For retailers, filter performance verification builds trust in the products they offer and an easy way for shoppers to compare products and choose with confidence.
AHAM Verifide® is a leading independent home appliance certification and verification program that tests home appliances and replacement air filters against rigorous standards to certify performance and energy use, driving purchase confidence and peace of mind. AHAM Verifide makes selection simple by verifying product performance through independent, third-party testing, giving customers confidence that they are bringing home the product that best meets their needs. You should first confirm the air purifier model name to find which filters are compatible with your unit.
The Serial Number and the MAC address appear on two different labels underneath the device.
If your air purifier is connected to the Blueair app you can additionally view the MAC address by selecting air purifier name and navigating to Product Settings › Product Information.
Once you know your model number, you can go to https://www.blueair.com/us/air-purifier-filters. Scroll down and select the model you have. All compatible filters and pre-filters will then be displayed. You can then click and order your filter as needed.
In order to have an active SmartFilter subscription, the unit must be registered and SmartFilter subscription purchased through the app.
SmartFilter replacement filter shipments require a signal from the Air Purifier to trigger the replacement shipment. If you have purchased a subscription on the Blueair website but have not registered your unit and connected in the app the Air Purifier cannot send the trigger for the replacement filter shipment.
The air purifier accurately indicates when the filter needs to be changed. The filter lifetime is calculated with a smart algorithm (patent-pending) and based on the particle levels in the room and the airflow during the time the filter has been used. The filter lifetime status can also be monitored in the Blueair app. You should expect a filter lifetime of maximum 1 year.

Blueair recommends a filter change every six months. The light on your filter timer will indicate when it is time to replace your filter after six months of continual use.
If you use your unit in a highly polluted environment, you need to change it more often. To ensure the unit’s high-quality performance, we recommend that you only use genuine Blueair filters.
