Check that Display Lock is not active — when locked, the remote's LED feedback flashes red and commands are ignored. Press and hold the Halo power button for 2 seconds to unlock.

Check the battery. The remote uses a CR2025 coin cell (3.0V). Use the included Allen key to press into the hole on the back of the remote and pull off the cover. Insert the battery with the correct polarity (follow the markings inside), then reattach the cover securely.

Point the remote directly at the IR receiver window on the front of the fan pole. The IR sensor requires direct line-of-sight — aim straight at the receiver from up to about 10 feet away. Pointing from slightly off-axis reduces range significantly.

Move closer and try again. If the fan's LED flashes blue, the signal was received successfully.
