No, aroma oils should never be placed directly in the tank of any humidifier.
Only the Blueair DreamWell humidifiers are compatible with aroma oil. Dispense your preferred number of drops (up to 6) of the oil directly onto the aroma stone or diffuser aroma chamber.
Blueair aroma oils are designed for the optimal performance with our DreamWell humidifier products; however they can also be used in most diffusers that are designed for use with aroma oils.
Hold the oil over the aroma stone or your diffusers aroma chamber, allow the oil to drop slowly from the bottle, one drop at a time, make sure to count the drops to control the experience. For a gentle experience we recommend using 2-3 drops of aroma oil, for an
immersive sensation up to 6 drops can be used at one time. After adding oil to the aroma stone or diffuser make sure to tightly close the cap and store the oil in a cool and dry place.
Aroma oils release gases (VOCs) that the sensor can detect. VOC readings indicate the presence and concentration of gases, not whether they are harmful at typical household levels. A temporary rise from fragrance use is common and usually drops once the diffusion has stopped or fresh air is introduced into the room.
A VOC spike after using aroma oils means:
VOC levels should gradually return to normal after the source is removed. Avoid placing diffusers directly next to Air Purifiers.
