Here are some steps we recommend to take if your cat or dog doesn't seem interested in their PetAir bed.
Make the Bed Appealing:
Scent: Pets are sensitive to smells. Place a familiar item like an unwashed blanket or a shirt with your scent in the bed to make it feel more comforting.
Catnip & Treats: Sprinkle some catnip for another treat that your cat or dog enjoys on the bed to entice your cat to explore and create a positive association.
Location, Location, Location:
Familiar Spots: Place the bed in or near areas where your pet already likes to nap or relax. Depending on your pet's preference with may be a sunny or shady spot.
High Places: Cats often feel safer and more comfortable in elevated locations.
Comfort: Ensure the bed is a warm & quiet location where your pet feels safe.
Positive Reinforcement:
Praise and Petting: When your pet enters or uses the bed, offer praise and gentle petting.
Treats: Reward your pet with treats when they are in the bed.
Avoid Forcing: Never force your pet into the bed, as this can create negative associations.
Patience and Observation:
Time: It may take time for your cat or dog to adjust to a new bed, so be patient.
Observation: Pay attention to where your cat already sleeps and adjust the bed placement accordingly.
Personal Preference: Pets have individual preferences. If your pet doesn't like the bed, try a different style or material.
